What is the Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panel?

The Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panel is a high-performance sound absorption board designed to reduce reverberation and echo in rooms where sound quality is crucial. These panels are made from durable polyester fibres, pressed on both sides to create a smooth finish. Their eco-friendly composition includes over 60% recycled material, making them a sustainable choice for improving acoustics. With a Class A rating, these panels are highly effective at sound absorption and require fewer units to achieve desired results compared to other products.

How Do the Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panels Work?

The panels work by absorbing sound waves, reducing their reflection and preventing echo in enclosed spaces. Their dense polyester fibre core dissipates sound energy by converting it into heat, effectively minimising sound transmission and reverberation. The 40mm thickness enhances their ability to trap a wide range of frequencies, improving overall sound clarity. Whether installed on walls or ceilings, these panels function as a barrier against unwanted noise and improve the acoustics of any environment.

How Effective Are the Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panels at Sound Absorption?

The Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panels are Class A rated, the highest classification for sound absorption. This means they can absorb up to 90% of sound energy, significantly reducing noise levels and reverberation. Their effectiveness lies in their ability to tackle a broad spectrum of frequencies, making them ideal for spaces with challenging acoustic conditions. In rooms prone to excessive echo, these panels can create a noticeable difference, enhancing speech clarity and reducing background noise.

Where Can the Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panels Be Used?

The versatility of these panels makes them suitable for a wide range of applications, including:

  • Residential Spaces: Living rooms, dining rooms, and home cinemas to improve conversation and media experiences.
  • Commercial Buildings: Offices, conference rooms, and open-plan areas for better productivity and communication.
  • Educational Facilities: Classrooms, lecture halls, and libraries to reduce distractions and improve focus.
  • Entertainment Venues: Studios, cinemas, and music halls for optimal sound quality.
  • Industrial Settings: Machinery enclosures and equipment areas to dampen operational noise.
  • Architectural Features: Perforated metal ceilings, climate ceilings, and drywall partitions.

How to Install the Acoustical Sound & Echo Absorption Panels?

The boards can be attached to walls and ceiling used a contact adhesive, or using a suspension kit, depending on the requirements of the room.

Installing these panels is straightforward and can be done by professionals or DIY enthusiasts. Follow these steps for optimal installation:

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure walls or ceilings are clean, dry, and free from dust or debris.
  2. Positioning: Plan the layout by marking where the panels will be installed. For walls, place panels at ear level for maximum effectiveness. On ceilings, arrange them evenly or as per design requirements.
  3. Fixing Method: Use contact adhesive for wall installations or suspension kits for ceiling applications.
    • For adhesive, apply to both the panel and the surface, wait 3-5 minutes for tackiness, and press firmly into place.
    • For suspension kits, secure the spiral hooks and adjustable cables to the soffit, then attach the panels.
  4. Final Touches: Adjust as necessary to ensure alignment and a clean finish.

Installing the acoustic panels

The panels can be mechanically fixed or glued.

For optimal acoustic correction, please leave a spacing between the edges of the panels of 5 cm.

The surface receiving the panel should be clean, free of oil, dust and grease.

Polyester wool can be cut with a sharp ceramic knife, scissors, filament, band saw, or foam saw.

The material withstands temperatures from -30°C to 120°C

When using adhesive

The Acoustical range can also have a surface equipped with an adhesive.

Protected by a silicone yellow film, it is thus possible to adhere the panel directly to its support.

The panels must be glued to clean, dry supports free of traces of oils, greases, dust or solvents.

After removing the protective film from the adhesive, uniform pressure should be exerted for adhesion over the entire surface and to prevent the formation of air bubbles.

Please note that once the adhesive is applied, the panel is no longer moveable.

Always perform a test with the glue to ensure compatibility and adhesion while strictly following the bonding instructions provided by the manufacturer.

How to maintain the boards

The surface can be easily cleaned with a vacuum cleaner and a soft brush.
