How does Ceiling Soundproofing work?

Ceiling soundproofing works by reducing the amount of noise that travels through the ceiling, from one space to another. This is usually done by installing acoustic insulation materials between the ceiling and the room above, and between the joists of the ceiling. 

Acoustic insulation materials are designed to absorb and deflect sound waves, reducing the amount of noise traveling through the ceiling. 

To achieve even higher soundproofing performance sound-blocking materials and systems are used, such as acoustic boards, hangers and brackets, which further reduce the noise transmission.

Stud wall method
