Soundstop Wool is a superb soundproofing layer, than is both an excellent, luxurious underlay for carpets, and a top performing floating floor base layer. Coming as a 10m2 roll, it is made with a unique combination of recycled rubber crumb base, with a recycled British sheep wool top, providing great sound and thermal insulation to your home or office.

Floating Floor

Soundstop Wool can be pared with an 18mm or 22mm layer of chipboard to create an excellent floating floor solution, give impact performance of 48dB (LnTw) and airborne of 56dB (DnTw + Ctr):

  • Loose lay the Soundstop Wool on top of new or existing floorboards;
  • Protect the perimeter from flanking noise using a Flanking Strip;
  • Loose lay an 18mm or 22mm tongue and groove chipboard on top of the Soundstop Wool layer;
  • Can be combined with a suitable Ceiling Solution to enhance performance.

Acoustic Underlay

Soundstop Wool is also an excellent sound and thermal underlay for a variety of floorings - and is frequently used in high-end applications under carpet to give superb performance, and a luxurious feel.
